This document, released by the U.S. Department of Education in 2016 and revised in 2023, provides guidance to help state education agencies, local education agencies, schools, and other stakeholders choose and implement interventions that improve outcomes for students. Part II of the document, beginning on page 7, provides guidance on the definition of “evidence-based” as it relates to the Elementary Secondary Education Act.
